Answers to Your Electrical Service Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Federal Pacific Panels really that unsafe?

The big problem with these panels is that the breakers can fail to trip in response to overcurrent, leading to electrical fires. The breakers may also fail to shut off internally, even if the toggle is switched to “off.”

If we had one in my home, I would make it a priority to change it out. There is a ton of information on the internet about these panels. Do some research, and you, too, will wonder why more people are not changing them out. Many times, people look at the panel and say, “Hey, it looks good, and I have never had a problem with it. Why should I spend the money to change it out?”

Is aluminum wiring safe?

In one word… NO.

Many homes have been wired using aluminum wiring. If yours is one of them, we recommend that an electrical contractor do a thorough electrical home inspection. Aluminum wire expands and contracts with usage, causing hot spots in the wiring that may cause an electrical fire in your home. Make sure when they inspect your home, they have knowledge about aluminum wiring. Most contractors work in new construction and not in older, existing homes.

Is it true that you have a referral program?

We are glad you asked. Yes, we do. If you refer us to someone else and we complete work for them, we will do two things. We’ll give them $25.00 off the completed work and then mail you a $25.00 check. The check is a small thank you for being our cheerleader for our business.

What happens if we are not satisfied with the job done?

We offer a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee in writing. We make sure that when we complete the task, it is to your liking. If necessary, we will redo the work. Remember, it is our goal to have a customer become a client for life.

Do you finish DIY (do it yourself) projects?

Our electricians love to have these kinds of challenges. We understand that you may have run out of time or lacked the tools to get the job done. Let us come out and complete the work so you can enjoy doing other things.

Do you put everything in writing, including warranties?

Everything that we do for our clients is in writing. We believe this is for your protection, not just for us.

Do we have to purchase permits for electrical work?

Anytime a contractor or homeowner does work on a home, a permit/ number is required to be posted on site. Many jobs will need a permit, and we will take care of that for you; it’s all part of the service we provide. You should never get a permit for someone to work at your home, especially when you do not do the work. It can put both you and the contractor in a bad place when something goes wrong.

Can you complete the work the same day you give an estimate?

We believe that all electricians should be able to be up front with their pricing. Time and materials leave you with no idea of the actual cost for the work to be done. We use precise pricing to the penny. If it goes over, we do not come back and ask for more money.

How come you don't work on time and material?

We do our best to complete the job the same day. Your time is very important to us. Our trucks are set up to handle most service calls, eliminating the need for a parts run. They are like having an electrical warehouse on wheels.
